Merensky Timber’s plantations are the largest privately-owned commercial forests being managed on a saw-log regeneration basis in South Africa. Merensky plantations include both Pine and Eucalyptus species and its own sawmills provide quality lumber to southern African and offshore customers. All Merensky-grown lumber carries the prestigious FSC® accreditation, an international audit benchmark used by consumers to differentiate sustainably-sourced lumber products from those made from timber of unknown origin. FSC® accreditation means peace of mind for consumers, who are assured that Merensky-grown lumber originates from forests that are managed in a sustainable and responsible manner, according to the environmental social and economic principles of the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®).

Distribution Centres in major cities across South Africa

Lumber products are available in standard dimensions for structural use in construction as well as for industrial uses. Applications include the manufacture of door and window scantlings, doors, bins, drums, flooring, decking, furniture components and mouldings, to name but a few. Kiln-dried and wet-off-saw lumber is available, and exotic lumber from sustainable hardwood sources imported. Products are supplied mainly in bulk direct to merchants or from Merensky Distribution Centres.
